It looks as if the 1999
Apalachicola Tarpon season might be
winding
down a bit. But it sure has been a productive
one!
Lots of personal records and
first time hook-ups with the
photos
to prove it! Just finished adding more
"Action shots"
to the
web page so be sure to take a look.
The good
news is that the Redfish, Speckled Trout and
our
other local fish are
here in great numbers. Chuck Edwards
and his son had shot
after shot at redfish on Monday with Capt.
Tommy. Capt. Nathan's
clients caught a 15 lb tripletail.
Pompano & Spanish Mackerel are out
there too. Things look
good for September - December Redfishing
at this rate.
Just
wanted to recount a day on Capt. Zingarelli's
boat. He
had a group of 4
fishing in the bay about a week ago and one
of the men was just
watching the others reel in the trout &
redfish
one after the other,
because he had lost his hands to frostbite
while climbing Mt.
Everest. Well, Chad asked him if he wanted
to try it, cast out
the line for him and rigged it up so he could
hold
the rod and he hooked
up on a redfish immediately and reeled it
in! Then he caught a
few more. I can't swear that Capt. Chad
made
his day, but I know
that Mr.. Weathers will be investing in
some
fishing tackle
soon!
If you are
shopping for your new calendar for the year
2000,
check out
the Saltwater Sportsman's Fishing Calendar. If
you
turn to
the page for January 2001, you will find a
sunset photo of
Capt.
Tommy Robinson & Capt. Chris Robinson taken
by Dusan
Smetana in
April 1999. He was here for the Outdoor Life
Magazine
photo
shoot (article due out possibly May/June 2000).
