Saturday my friend Bret and I hired Butch
Sears to take us out for muskies on Mille Lacs.
When we were done for the day the three of us
were all wondering if what we had just done had
really happened.
We boated six muskies ranging in size from
36" to 47" and we had hooked up but
failed to land five others well over 40".
Plus, as a bonus Bret landed a beautiful
40" northern.
Butch told us, and we agreed that we will
probably never in our lifetime have another day
even come close to that.
One of the best things about the whole story
is that Bret just caught his first muskie about
three weeks ago, a respectable 29 incher out of
Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis. He thought it would
be fun to try for a big one on the big lake, but
neither one of us even dreamed about catching
that many!
Luckily I have pictures of all the fish we
landed and I hope to post them by the end of the
week.
Saturday July 10th will go down in my memory
as probably the best fishing experience of my
life.
ALL OTHER FISH ARE JUST
BAIT,
